Cleveland, OH – The Miles 4 Melanoma Pan-American Ride kicks off at noon August 24th during Walk+Roll in Rockefeller Park on Cleveland’s east side. Miles 4 Melanoma is a bicycle tour from Cleveland, Ohio to Ushuaia, Argentina to raise awareness of melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer, and to raise money for The Melanoma Research Foundation. An adventurous team of two, Ray Query and Kevin Madzia who work in a local bike shop, start their journey Sunday with plans to reach the southern tip of South America by the end of April 2009.

Sherwin-Williams and their Tri-Flow brand have pledged financial support for the trip and The Melanoma Research Foundation. In addition, they will supply the team with Tri-Flow products and clothing for the journey. Tri-Flow is known to on and off-road cyclists as a manufacturer of high-quality cleaners, degreasers and lubricants.

On their journey, Kevin and Ray will visit Sherwin-Williams facilities located in various cities throughout North, Central, and South America to recharge and share tales of their trip!

Ray Query and Kevin Madzia plan to arrive at Walk+Roll Cleveland at 12:00noon and depart at 1:00pm.

Cyclists are invited to join the team on the first leg of their ride from Rockefeller Park to the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.

Cleveland, OH – The Miles 4 Melanoma Pan-American Ride is a bicycle tour from Cleveland, Ohio to Ushuaia, Argentina being planned by Ray Query and Kevin Madzia, who are currently employed by the Century Cycles bicycle shops located in Northeast Ohio.

The two will depart Cleveland on August 24, 2008, and hope to reach the southern tip of South America by the end of April 2009. Kevin and Ray are doing the two-continent journey to raise awareness of melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer, and hope to raise $20,000 for The Melanoma Research Foundation.

The Miles 4 Melanoma team is pleased to announce the addition of several new corporate sponsors to the event.

The Miles 4 Melanoma Pan-American Ride has partnered with Walk+Roll for a send-off celebration on August 24. Walk+Roll Cleveland is a community-oriented event that promotes walking, bicycling, skating, and other healthy lifestyle activities. The Aug. 24 event will be held from 11:00am to 6:00pm in Rockefeller Park on Cleveland’s east side, where Martin Luther King Blvd. will be closed to vehicle traffic so that attendees can enjoy all of the family-friendly activies available at the event.

Ray Query and Kevin Madzia plan to arrive at Walk+Roll Cleveland at 12:00noon, and depart at 1:00pm. They will be available to answer questions at the Tri-Flow Tent, where Tri-Flow staff will also be on hand with product samples. Any cyclists wishing to accompany Ray and Kevin on the first leg of their ride can do so as the two make their way from Rockefeller Park to the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Riders will need to make their way back to Rockefeller Park on their own.
