Pan-American Ride

Kevin Madzia and Ray Query, August 24, 2008The Miles 4 Melanoma Pan-American Ride was a bicycle tour that began in Cleveland, Ohio on August 24, 2008. The original goal was to bicycle all the way to Ushuaia (“the southernmost city in the world”), the capital of the Tierra del Fuego province of Argentina.

With the help of many friends and sponsors, the riders made their way through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. They endured many hot days, endless hills, and the rains of two hurricanes.

They crossed the border into Mexico on September 24, and into Guatemala on October 12. On October 17, one rider returned home to Ohio, while the other continued on through El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, and returned home from there.
