We planned to get started around 7am today, joined by our Century Cycles friends Al and Ted. They showed up and woke us up around 6:30, so we all decided to go out for breakfast. I got to have my final batch of my favorite pancakes at the Perkins Restaurant in Hudson. We drove back to Peninsula to get our stuff together, and got on the road on our bikes around 9am.
We bid good-bye to Al and Ted at the end of Riverview Road. We used the Tour de CC route to get to the Medina store, and said our good-byes to our friends there. We decided to take State Route 42 out of Medina to re-join the Underground Railroad Route. It was kind of busy at first, but made for a pleasant connection, including a section of brand new asphalt outside of West Salem. We stopped for lunch at the Lighthouse Cafe in Lodi, and eventually turned onto County Road 251 to hook back up to the UGRR.
We made a snack stop in Jeromesville, where we ran into two different groups of people who recognized us from the story on WKYC the night before. We proceeded through Haysville, then finally to Mifflin, where we stopped at the local market to buy some dinner and breakfast supplies, then located the Charles Mill Lake State Park and set up camp for the night. While preparing our dinner, a local couple stopped by our site and also mentioned that they saw us on the news.
