Miles 4 Melanoma

We got off on time around 10am from Lakewood today, joined by Ray’s brother Everett and Everett’s son Paul on their tandem. We stopped by the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and Museum to take some photos, then proceeded to Walk+Roll Cleveland. Along the way on the Lakefront Bikeway, we shared the route with the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walkers. We arrived at Walk+Roll a little early, around 11:40am.

While at Walk+Roll, we were intervied by a reporter from WTAM 1100 AM radio. We appreciate their support and telling our story on the air.

We are very grateful for the many family and friends who showed up at Walk+Roll to help see us off.

Around 1:30pm, a little later than planned, we left Walk+Roll to make our way to our first stop, Peninsula. We were joined still by Everett and Paul, and well as a few other friends, including Jose from Sherwin-Williams, Jim from the Ohio City Bicycle Co-op, Kevin from ClevelandBikes, Evan, Laura, and Michael.

A bit down the road, one of Evan’s tires was going flat, so we stopped to help him get it pumped back up. It started raining, but we all pressed on. At Canal Road, Evan, Laura, Everett, and Paul turned off to make their way to their homes. A bit later, Jim, Kevin, and Michael turned off on Tinker’s Creek Road to make their way home.

We made a stop in Brecksville to say good-bye to our friends Steve and Kate, before finally arriving in Peninsula, where a reporter and cameraman from WKYC Channel 3 were waiting for us with our friends and family.
